National selection for Eva
WARRNAMBOOL netballer Eva Ryan has been named in the 2024 Australian 17 and under squad.
Ryan was one of seven Victorians named in the 36-member national team, announced earlier this week by Netball Australia.
The 66 athletes were selected for the 17/U and 19/U Australian squads (including 12 Victorians) following the recent National Netball Championships.
The newly named squads will take part in training camps delivered by Netball Australia at the Australian Institute of Sport in July.
“We’re proud to have so many Victorian athletes selected in national squads, it’s a great reflection of the strength of our pathway,” Netball Victoria general manager, high performance and pathways, Megan Simpson said.
“National selection is a fantastic reward for our athletes’ commitment and talent, and an exciting opportunity to continue their development alongside peers from across the country.”
Ms Simpson said Netball Victoria would continue to evaluate and develop its pathway programs to ensure Victorian netballers have the best possible opportunities to thrive.
