Roosters dominate

SOUTH Warrnambool’s open women’s football side continued its 2024 winning streak, defeating the Blues by 79-points last Friday.

The Roosters, who defeated CFNC by a massive 161-points in the opening round, again showed great form last Friday night to take the points.

Best for the Roosters in a solid team effort were Georgia McAlpine, Claire Logan, Lucy Jones, Matilda Ryan, Hannah Rooke and Tara-lee Boyce.

Goals went to Jasmine Davidson, Soraya Kearney-Knox, Michaela Leris and Hannah Rooke (two each), with singles to Tara-lee Boyce, Kiara Dean, Kate Noseda and Rosie Pickles.

For Warrnambool, Eliza Freeman, Georgia McCullagh, Hannah Utri, Danili Dwyer, Charli Groves and Ava Welsh were among the best.

Round three, to be played this Sunday afternoon, will see South Warrnambool at home to Horsham, Hamilton will host CFNC while the Blues will travel to Tyrendarra.
