Despite last Saturday’s cool, wintry conditions, a large crowd turned out for the event to enjoy what became a warm celebration of community, country life and local creativity.

A display of vintage vehicles, tractors and stationary engines proved popular among people of all ages, as did the array of market stalls, food, music and family activities.

“The Koroit Port Fairy SES and the Koroit CFA also brought along service vehicles and trucks which added to the attractions and both also took some extra lights to ensure the pathways were safely lit,” staff member Brooke Stewart said.

“The silent art auction had some heated bidding wars, with a Ben Fennesey piece reaching over $220.

The crowds were kept well entertained, with music provided by some of the staff’s partners (thanks to Sam and Les) and school mum Crystal Cummings, accompanied by Brad Chant on guitar.

“The tractor display was a real highlight, with plenty of excitement on the oval,” Ms Stewart said.

“A huge thanks to all staff for getting behind the idea and helping turn it from a crazy concept into a real community event.

“Thankyou also to all the stallholders, exhibitors, volunteers, performers, local businesses and community members who contributed.

“The event was made possible through the willingness of locals to volunteer, participate and support something new.”

A colour changing arched walkway welcomed everyone into the school, with the event creating an opportunity for families and the wider community to connect.

Funds raised will go towards a new undercover area to ensure children have a safe area to play in all weather conditions.
