To be held on the weekend of May 1-3, the festival looks set to attract up to 5000 people to Koroit.

Those planning to attend are urged to book their tickets online in the lead-up to the festival.

The festival committee has kept prices the same as last year, with a Saturday-Sunday ticket costing just $30 per adult, with children free.

The Friday night concert is sold out.

The festival theme this year is ‘Koroit - the 33rd County,’ while the ambassador is local legend Barry Brody.

Koroit Irish Festival president Adele MacDonald said the build-up to the festival was already on in earnest.

“It really is a month-long thing now, people have been talking about the festival and planning for it since April arrived,” Ms MacDonald said.

“The Koroit and south west community have really embraced the festival and we get so many visitors from right across the state, and interstate.

“It is a fun, affordable festival and everyone feels welcome, it makes for a pretty good package.”

The festival will again bring some of the best Irish-Australian music talent to Koroit, as well as renowned local and visiting Irish dancers.

The street procession, Flaming Folk Person of the Year, Gathering of Green Eyes, Rock the Boat line-up and the Mad Cow Stampede will all be back to provide a fun and interactive take on Irish culture.

The Australian Danny Boy Championship will once again be held on the Saturday afternoon, May 2.

Tickets are now on sale at the Koroit Irish Festival website.
