A valuable session on heart health

AS part of the nation-wide Heart Week campaign, the Archie Graham Centre was host to a special ‘heart health’ session earlier this week.

Local cardiologist Dr Anoop Koshy spoke with a large group of residents at the centre on Tuesday.

His informative talk made complex concepts easy to understand and he shared several real-world examples of heart disease and the treatment options available.

The session concluded with a question and answer which featured one of his patients – who reinforced the importance of booking a heart check with your local GP if something “doesn’t feel quite right.”

The Archie Graham Centre will host a fashion parade and clothes sale on Friday, June 12 from 2pm-4pm to raise funds for the Heart Foundation.

To date, more than 300 garments have been donated for the parade and 12 models (who are all regular patrons of the Archie Graham Community Centre) have volunteered to participate.

Those unable to attend the event and would like to make a cash donation can do so at the centre prior to or on June 12.
