Action aplenty on picnic day

THE grounds of St Patrick’s Primary School Koroit will once again come alive when the school hosts its annual ‘Picnic in the Paddock’ next weekend.

The picnic will run from 10am until 3pm next Sunday, October 26 with the day set to draw hundreds of visitors to town.

This year will again see the return of the quality pop-up shop markets, local talent on the main stage, delicious food truck arena and the Little Makers Market.

A second stage will also run this year, and will feature sheep shearing demonstrations, whip cracking and students performing drum demonstrations.

The children’s area looks set to expand with the addition of a new carnival ride, The Cha Cha.

This is the first time a ride of its size has appeared at the picnic and organisers are confident this will attract a lot of interest from picnic-goers.

Once again local community groups have shown their support of the day, with members of the local SES unit performing two car-cutting demonstrations.

There will also be a large range of emergency service vehicles on display, and a tractor to climb in and explore.

Visitors to this year’s Picnic in the Paddock will also have the chance to purchase some special ‘picnic merchandise’ including hats, bags and pens.

These will also be available from the school office – along with unlimited rides wristbands (just $25 pre-purchase or $30 on the day).
