All roads lead to Reid

A NAIL-biting five point win over Terang Mortlake in last weekend’s preliminary final has earned the Koroit Saints a spot in Saturday’s Hampden League senior football grand final.

The Saints led from the opening quarter last weekend but had to fight hard in the final term to shake off a determined Bloods outfit, who booted four majors to two to get within a goal of the Saints on the final siren.

Koroit’s Sam Dobson slotted six majors for the day and was well supported on the scoreboard by team-mates Connor Byrne and Will Morrison with two apiece, while Jett Grayland, Blair McCutcheon and Clem Nagorcka also contributed one each.

In what will be a rematch of last year’s grand final, the Saints will be hoping to turn the tables on the North Warrnambool Eagles (who took home the 2025 premiership by 42 points) and take home this year’s flag.

The senior game will kick off at the Reid from 2.30pm.

Last Saturday’s reserves preliminary final saw Cobden defeat South Warrnambool by 41 points.

The Bombers will now take on Warrnambool in tomorrow’s grand final from 12 noon.

A 29-point win over Koroit in the under 18 preliminary final has earned Warrnambool a grand final berth.

They will take on South Warrnambool from 9.30am.

In the Open netball grand final tomorrow, South Warrnambool will face Koroit at 1.40pm after defeating Warrnambool 55-31 in the preliminary final.

Other netball grand final games and times will be as follows:

Division one, 12.10pm South Warrnambool v Port Fairy.

Division two, 11am South Warrnambool v Koroit.

Division three, 1pm South Warrnambool v North Warrnambool.

17 and under, 10am South Warrnambool v Koroit.

17 and under reserves, 12 noon Koroit v Warrnambool.
