In conjunction with the Warrnambool Multicultural Society, year 8 students were involved in the school’s first ‘Migration Morning’ last Thursday.

Five speakers were welcomed into the college to tell their stories of migrating to Australia.

The activity was part of Cultural Diversity Week and also brought to life the current year 8 geography topic, ‘Changing Nations.’

The students were fortunate to have been able to hear and understand first-hand the experiences of migration to our country.

The school extended its thanks to Daisy Ye from the Warrnambool Multicultural Society for organising the day, alongside presenters Meena Bharti, Xia’e Liu, Viktoria Yakushchenko, Otha Akoch, and Thomas Lual who shared their very personal stories with the students.

It is hoped the students found the experience rewarding and insightful, instilling an awareness and respect of all people who call our country home.
