Anzac Day services

WITH Anzac Day fast approaching, plans are now being finalised for services across the district.


Warrnambool RSL will once again host a dawn service at 6am, followed by breakfast opposite the Soliders’ Memorial.

Large crowds are once again expected to enjoy the march and community service at the RSL from 10.30am.

In nearby Grassmere, a commemorative service and wreath laying service will begin at 9am at the Lone Pine at the Grassmere Hall.

In Port Fairy, a 6.30am dawn service at the Railway Place Memorial will be followed by a gunfire breakfast at the RSL hall.

At 10am the town will host a march, with muster opposite Seacombe House for a step-off at 10.15am.

A mid-morning service will take place at 10.30am at the Railway Place Memorial.

Orford residents will have the opportunity to attend a community service at the local hall from 11am, followed by a luncheon, while in Koroit, a service will begin at 1pm at the High Street Memorial.

Concluding the day’s services, a march and commemorative service has been scheduled to begin in Panmure at 2pm.
