An estimated 9000 rodeo enthusiasts went through the gates at the Warrnambool Showgrounds over the two-night event.

“Our numbers were certainly down on what we initially expected, but in saying that the weather wasn’t all that favourable on Saturday afternoon and into the evening,” organiser Jenni Strain said.

“And at this time of the year there is always so much happening all over the district. Those who did attend had a great time and we’ve had a lot of positive feedback.

“There was plenty of action in the ring, along with entertainment after the program and some activities for our younger visitors.

“I am extremely grateful for all the wonderful volunteers who helped with the set up and countless other jobs, including my family who travelled from Queensland and Melbourne to help with the catering.

“Our rodeo volunteers are just amazing and I’m very appreciative of all their efforts - Pete McEwan, as always, was a great help along with Kaleb Comolatti, and all our generous sponsors.”

The 2025 NFR Champions were crowned on Saturday night, with Joe Down taking out the Open Bull division and Dean Oliver the Open Saddlebronc.

The champions in other divisions were:

Open Bareback – Brandon Stockdale; 2nd Division Bull Ride – Noah Dingle; 2nd Division Saddlebronc- James Boulton; Ladies Barrel Race – Julie Breed; Junior Barrel Race – Toni Woodall; Junior Bull – Noah Dingle.
