While Port Fairy doesn’t have a sheep section, breeders are able to show their best at the Warrnambool, Koroit and Noorat shows.

While some shows have seen recent declines in entries across sheep and cattle, it appeared sheep numbers have continued to buck the trend and remain vibrant.

Last Saturday’s Noorat Show was no exception, with a record 100 entries received via 18 exhibitors – with 11 breeds represented.

This included Aussie Whites, Corriedale, English Leicester, Hampshire Down, Poll Dorset, Romney, Suffolk, Southdown, South Suffolk, Texel and White Suffolk.

Lachie Kelly from Hexham’s LSK Stud, took out the top award – All Breeds ‘Sheep of the Show’ with his Suffolk Ram.
