Blues defeated under lights

CAVENDISH registered its third win of the Western Victoria Female Football League, defeating Warrnambool by 37 points under lights at Hamilton’s Melville Oval on Friday night.

After leading by just three points at quarter time, Cavendish kicked away to record a 9.11.65 to 4.4.28 win.

Lucinda Star, Amelia Thomas, Piper Killick, Chloe Perryman, Clare Henstridge and Lucy Pretty were best for Cavendish, with Thomas kicking four goals and captain Laura Downes two.

Best for Warrnambool were Jayde Bertrand, Dekotah Ellis, LaToya Folima, Star Jackson, Isabelle Moorhead and Tayla Bertrand, with Dekotah Ellis kicking three goals.

No scores were available from the Tyrendarra v Hamilton match, with Terang Mortlake having to forfeit to South Warrnambool.

Branxholme/Wallacedale had the bye.

This Sunday’s matches see South Warrnambool host Hamilton at Friendlies Society Park, Warrnambool travel to Mortlake’s DC Farran Oval to take on Terang Mortlake, with Tyrendarra playing Branxholme/Wallacedale at Tyrendarra.

Cavendish has the bye.
