Blues overcome by Bloods

THE 2023 finals campaign came to an end for Warrnambool’s under 18 women’s side last weekend.

Round one of the finals series saw the Blues take on Terang Mortlake at Friendlies Society Park on Sunday. 

Despite their best efforts throughout the day the Blues managed just one goal – kicked by Claudia Tutt – while the Bloods went on to finish the game at 6.11.47.

In the second game last Sunday, played at Cavendish, South Warrnambool proved too strong for the Horsham Demons, running home 53-point victors, 7.12.54 to 0.1.1. 

Best for the Roosters were Hannah Rooke, Grace Schrama, Yezza Hawkins, Frankie Bant, Kate Noseda and Maggie Johnstone. 

Noseda kicked three goals for the day and was well supported on the scoreboard by Johnstone with two and singles from Marnie Beks, Scarlett O’Donnell and Ruby Walters-McCosker. 

This Sunday’s preliminary final will see the Bloods take on Horsham Demons, with the winner progressing to the grand final against South Warrnambool.
