Bridge players head to state titles
TWO Warrnambool bridge players have qualified to compete in the state semi-finals.
Warrnambool Bridge Club players Penny Thomas and Janet Attrill are heading to the state semi-finals.
Janet Attrill and Penny Thomas recently competed in the western region bridge pairs event and finished as the top female fair with five wins and one loss.
This has earned them a place in the state semi-finals, which will be held in Melbourne in April.
Fellow Warrnambool club members Linda Piccone and John Sarena finished third overall after a comprehensive win in the final round.
Although the two pairs combined for the teams’ event on day two of competition, they were unable to emulate their success from the previous day.
