Bulldogs in round 15 upset

AN upset win to Panmure over Old Collegians highlighted round 15 of the Warrnambool and District senior football competition.

The Bulldogs’ 12.10.82 to 2.10.22 win at the Panmure Recreation Reserve was their fourth victory of the season.

Declan Bourke, Zeke Reeves and Matt Pratt were best for the home team, with Lachlan McLeod and Patrick Sinnott kicking three goals each.

Will McConnell, Ned Timms and Jacob Lacy were best for the Warriors.

At Merrivale, top of the ladder Allansford had a big 19.16.130 to 6.5.41 win over the Tigers.

Bradley Edge, Rani Jamieson and Patrick Drake were best for the Cats, with Robbie Hare kicking four goals and Jamieson three.

For Merrivale, Riley McConnell, Josh Britton and Bradley Bell were best, with Nathan Krepp kicking three goals.

At Mack Oval, Russells Creek scored a 14.18.102 to 9.6.60 win over Kolora-Noorat.

Best for Creek were Jordan Dillon, Dylan Shircore and Andrew McMeel, with Dillon kicking four goals and Thomas Smith three.

Nick Marshall, Bradley Lucas and Jack Lehmann were best for the Power, with Lehmann kicking three goals.

At Walter Oval, Nirranda had a 17.11.113 to 3.6.24 win over South Rovers.

Noah Mounsey, Dylan Parish and Luke Weel were best for the Blues, with Parish kicking four goals.

South Rovers best were Dylan McCutcheon, Sam Wilde and Bradley Cook.

Timboon had the bye.

The closest game in the A grade netball saw Kolora-Noorat register a 48-43 win over Russells Creek.

Fresh from her century of goals the week before, Tara Elliott shot a match high 43 goals in the win, with Hannah O’Connor, Molly Bourke and Ailish Glennen the Power’s best.

Best for Russells Creek were Charlotte van der Starre, Fleur Mahoney and Ruby Evans, with Molly Evans shooting 19 goals.

Old Collegians scored a 55-26 win over Panmure.

Dekotah Ellis, Annabel Lucas and Hannah Garner were best for the Warriors, with Maggie Kline shooting 43 goals.

Sienna Wickenton scored 18 goals for Panmure and was named in the Bulldogs best along with Steph Bant and Lori Irving.

Merrivale had a 10 goal win over Allansord, 49-39.

Cloe O’Flaherty, Kelsey Perry and Georgia Martin were best for the Tigers, with Paiyton Noonan shooting 27 goals and Chloe Lovell 20.

Lisa Pender, Jessica Rohan and Stacy Mills were best for Allansford, with Lilly Sanderson shooting 20 goals.

At Timboon, the Demons had an 81-16 win over Dennington.

Tash Hallyburton, Bethany Hallyburton and Evie Gordon were best for the Demons, with Brianna Gass shooting 29 goals, Laura Rosolin 28 and Gordon 24.

Best for Dennington were Phoebe Stuart, Amber Dowd and Melissa Walker, with Claudia Phillips and Bridie Smith scoring six goals each.

Nirranda scored a 51-36 win in its match against South Rovers.

Best for the Blues were Matilda Fitzgerald, Montana Wallace and Hayley Pouw, with Steph Townsend shooting 32 goals.

For South Rovers, Meg McCutcheon, Chloe Manuell and Renae Mauriks were best, with Manuell shooting 20 goals.

This Saturday’s round of WDFNL matches sees Old Collegians and Russells Creek meet at Davidson Oval, Allansford will host Panmure at Allansford, Kolora-Noorat takes on Timboon at Noorat with South Rovers having the bye in the senior football and playing Dennington at Dennington in the A grade netball.

On Sunday, Nirranda plays Merrivale at the Reid Oval in a stand-alone game.
