Organisers are now looking for buskers to enter this year’s competition.
To be held across the March long weekend during the Port Fairy Folk Festival, the competition is a unique opportunity to perform on the street among thousands of music fans.
Presented in collaboration with the Folk Festival Committee, the Street Fair has become a much-loved element of the Labour Day long weekend, with music, kids entertainment, food, stalls and more creating a lively atmosphere.
Mayor Ian Smith said crowds love the variety of musical styles and performances buskers bring.
“Whether you’re a solo artist, a dynamic duo or a full band, this is your chance to shine,” he said.
“Each participating busker can be rated by the crowd they draw.
“Up for grabs is a pair of tickets to the 2025 Folk Festival, some serious bragging rights, and a great addition to their musical CV.”
Buskers can apply at www.moyne.vic.gov.au/StreetBusking with applications closing on February 16.
