Carnival of Connection
IF you’re looking for a fun, free day out for the entire family, don’t miss the ‘Carnival of Connection’ at the Warrnambool Showgrounds next weekend.
Next Sunday, October 11 the Great South Coast Wellbeing Collective will host a special day at the showgrounds, offering free entry and a range of free activities for all ages.
The event, which is being held in celebration of Mental Health Month and Carers Week, will kick off at 11am and run through until 3pm.
At the heart of the carnival is a simple message – ‘Connection is an important part of our wellbeing.’
The event will bring together local organisations, services, community groups, activities, performers and businesses in one place, giving people an opportunity to have fun while also discovering the many different ways they can connect within their own community.
The program looks set to offer something for all ages and includes performances by the Mik Maks.
Also on the day’s program is a Guru Dudu silent disco walking tour, a colour run, boomerang throwing, petting zoo, acrobatics, arts and crafts, live entertainment, games and interactive activities.
And visitors won’t go hungry either, with free mini burgers, a free sausage sizzle, popcorn and fairy floss.
Several local community groups, organisations and services will host displays.
The carnival is proudly delivered by the Great South Coast Wellbeing Collective.
This includes Headspace Warrnambool, Let’s Talk, Lifeline South West Vic, Meli, South West Healthcare, South West Sport, Switchboard/Pride in Ageing, Warrnambool City Council, Wellways Australia and WRAD Health.
