Cash boost for local projects
PROJECTS in Port Fairy, Koroit, Yambuk and Framlingham are among several to receive a cash boost as part of round three of the Tiny Towns Fund.
Announcing the funding allocations last week, Member for Western Victoria Jacinta Ermacora said five local projects were among those to receive funds.
The Port Fairy Community Services Centre upgrade has been allocated $42,300 while Koroit’s open space beautification will receive $33,891.
A grant of $29,727 has been allocated towards the Yambuk rest stop planning and the Cudgee Hall will receive $11,923 towards critical repairs.
The Framlingham Hall and Recreation Reserve has also been successful, with $35,769 going towards the refurbishment of the Framlingham Community Hall.
Round three of the $20 million Tiny Towns Fund will deliver 157 projects across 151 towns with less than 5,000 people.
Across regional Victoria, more than 40 much-loved community halls will be updated while 15 playgrounds and play spaces will be created or improved.
“Dozens of regional communities are already reaping the rewards of the Tiny Towns Fund, with more than 100 projects complete, helping make regional Victoria an even better place,” Ms Ermacora said.
“Most projects are being delivered by local workers and businesses, backing regional supply chains and economic growth.”
Ms Ermacora said the Tiny Towns Fund backs the small communities where people genuinely come together from all walks of life and makes regional Victoria such a great place to live.
