Celebrating all things Irish
THE Koroit Irish Festival has again lived up to its reputation as one of the country’s most joyous events.

Held from Friday to Sunday last weekend, the festival brought 5000 people into the town of Koroit.
The huge crowd celebrated with gusto the festival theme of ‘Koroit - The 33rd County’.
Festival ambassador and local legend Barry Brody was hailed as the king of Koroit for the weekend.
Headline acts such as Damien Leith, Maria Forde and Timlin’s Green had the crowd on its feet and singing along.
The street procession was once again a hit, as was the Australian Danny Boy Championship.
Sunday’s program was also filled with entertainment and excitement, with Gaelic football, the Mad Cow Stampede and Rock the Boat the highlights.
Festival president Adele MacDonald was thrilled with the result.
“It takes a lot of work to put on the festival and our volunteer committee was amazing again,” Ms MacDonald said.
“And to have such support from the Koroit community and from those who travelled to be part of it was amazing. We are so thankful.”
There was one extra surprise for those in Koroit on the weekend, with an appearance from famed chef Rick Stein.
Stein filmed a segment for his TV series while he was at the festival.
