Crowds enjoy some rare exhibits
THE Wannon Rooms at the Warrnambool Showgrounds was home to a range of interesting collectables last weekend.

The South West Region Bottle and Collectable Club’s ‘Bottle and Collectables Show’ attracted strong crowds over the weekend.
According to Bruce Lowenthal, the two-day event was a “huge success” with exhibitors travelling from far and wide to take part.
“We were extremely pleased with both the attendance numbers and the exhibitor numbers on the weekend and from all feedback received so far, everyone had a great time,” Mr Lowenthal said.
“There was some wonderful exhibits, including a magnificent display of Queen Victoria items which dated back to about the early 1840s and that was judged the best collectable display of the show.
“We also had some miniature tools which are very rare to see, and a Robur Tea display which included a ‘perfect teapot’ which was popular among visitors.”
Organisers are hoping to hold the event once again next year and are encouraging everyone, particularly the younger generation, to start their own collections.
“We strongly encourage young people to start up their own collection of things that interest them.
“Because we don’t want to lose these collections; they are all very interesting and deserve to be kept and shared.”
Visitors to last weekend’s event travelled from far and wide, with exhibitors from South Australia, New South Wales, Melbourne, Ballarat and further afield.
