Doran first to reach 1000
NESTLES vice-captain Mikaela Doran has made history in the Beyond Bank Women’s Division as the first female cricketer to reach 1000 runs.
The talented all-rounder smashed her way to an unbeaten 49 runs from 48 balls against Hawkesdale last weekend.
Doran’s innings included three boundaries and contributed to her side’s round eight victory.
Nestles finished on 3/107 in response to Hawkesdale’s 2/106 (from their 20 overs).
Opener Marnie Beks was also strong for Nestles, hitting 28 from 34 balls which included two boundaries.
With just two rounds remaining after the Christmas break, Brierly Northern Raiders currently sit on top of the ladder, followed by Allansford Panmure, Hawkesdale and Nestles rounding out the top four.
