Bathed in sunshine, visitors to the Pectin Avenue Park event enjoyed live entertainment, activities and stalls.

Multicultural dance performances and live music proved popular among the crowd, as did the community information stalls, while hungry visitors enjoyed free vegan burgers and halal sausages cooked on the barbecue, courtesy of the CWA Night Owl branch.

“It was wonderful to see so many people out and about enjoying the free family day,” West Warrnambool Neighbourhood House coordinator Jill Bourke said.

“The dancing and music was superb and the children had a lovely time with all the free activities, including pebble painting, chalk art and face painting.”

Last Sunday’s picnic day coincided with Harmony Day and National Neighbour Day celebrations.
