Festival this weekend

THE Koroit community is deep into preparations for its annual Irish Festival this weekend.

Beginning today (Friday), the festival will continue through Saturday and Sunday.

Up to 5000 people are expected to arrive for the festival, more than doubling the town’s population.

Tickets are on sale at the festival website, and in an inflation buster, remain the same as they have for the past two years, at just $30 an adult and children free.

The festival is run by an entirely volunteer committee, led by president Adele MacDonald.

It celebrates spuds, music, laughter and small town pride. And of course the Irish.
