Final round push for finals berth
WITH just one round remaining of the home and away season, the battle is on for fourth and fifth spot on the Hampden League senior football ladder.

While the top three are now cemented, with North Warrnambool sitting on top and three games clear of the second-placed Terang Mortlake Bloods, followed by Koroit in third, positions four to six (currently held by South Warrnambool, Portland and Warrnambool) are all currently tied on 40 points with 10 wins apiece.
The results from tomorrow’s final round will determine the top five and who plays finals.
Round 18 will see Portland host ninth-placed Cobden, the Blues will be at home to Hamilton (seventh) while the Roosters will face the Eagles at Bushfield.
In the reserves, Warrnambool and South Warrnambool will retain the top two spots, while Cobden and Hamilton (third and fourth) may swap pending tomorrow’s results while the fifth-placed Saints are well clear of their nearest rivals (Portland) and can’t drop out of the five.
In the Open netball competition, South Warrnambool will remain ladder leaders and hope to complete an unblemished season when they take on the Eagles tomorrow.
Koroit will finish the home and away season in second place, five games clear of Warrnambool, Cobden and Port Fairy who sit third, fourth and fifth on equal points but certain to play finals.
Tomorrow’s round 18 Hampden League fixture will see Portland host Cobden, Camperdown at home to Port Fairy, the Bloods will travel to Koroit, Warrnambool will host Hamilton and the Eagles and Roosters will meet at Bushfield.
