Finals begin this weekend
THE Warrnambool and District Football Netball League wrapped up its home and away season with the final round of matches on Saturday.

Allansford finished two games clear on top of the senior football ladder after an 18.11.119 to 12.6.78 win over second-placed Russells Creek at Allansford.
Robbie Hare bagged eight goals for the Cats in the win to take out the league goal kicking award with 94 for the season.
Flynn Gleeson kicked six goals, and was named best along with Bradley Edge and Aiden Gordon.
Dylan Shircore, Charlie Hoye and Andrew McMeel were best for Russells Creek, with Sam Kelly kicking five goals.
At the Nirranda Recreation Reserve, the home team had a 14.12.96 to 2.5.17 win over Old Collegians.
Brayden Harkness, Brendan Richardson and Hugh Giblin were best for Nirranda, with Dylan Parish and Jeremy Stacey kicking three goals each.
Harry White, Ned Timms and Paul Campbell were best for the Warriors in the loss.
Merrivale scored a 10.16.76 to 8.5.53 win over Kolora-Noorat at Noorat.
Best for the Tigers were Jalen Porter, Tyler Anderton and Manny Sandow, with Nathan Krepp kicking five goals.
For the Power, Nick Castersen kicked five goals and was best along with Nick Marshall and Joel Dillon.
The Timboon Demons ended South Rovers season with an 11.12.78 to 8.10.58 win at the Timboon Recreation Reserve.
Jack Matthews, Bayley Thompson and Mitchell Wallace were the Demons best in the win, with Johno Benallack kicking three goals.
For South Rovers, Liam Bishop, Zac Urquhart and Patrick Cunningham were best, with Dylan McCutheon and Jack Hope kicking two goals each.
Panmure had the bye.
The season is now over for Old Collegians, South Rovers, Panmure and Kolora-Noorat.
Allansford will have this week off, while Nirranda take on Russells Creek in the qualifying final at Davidson Oval on Saturday, and Timboon will play Merrivale in the elimination final at Allansford on Sunday.
In the A grade netball, top of the ladder Nirranda had a 58-42 win over Old Collegians.
Matilda Fitzgerald, Thalia Coates and Bella Wallace were best for the Blues, with Steph Townsend shooting 36 goals and Sophie Adams 17.
For the Warriors, Chelsea Quinn, Tessa Evans and Danica Clough were best, with Maggie Kline shooting 31 goals.
At Allansford, the home team had a 58-42 win over Russells Creek.
Bonnie Winter, Lilly Sanderson and Emily Manuell were the Cats best, with Sanderson shooting 27 goals and Jess Rohan 26.
Alice Cann, Molly Evans and Reese McIntyre were best for Creek, with Evans shooting 24 goals and McIntyre 18.
Panmure had a 69-16 win over Dennington at Dennington.
For Panmure, Sienna Wickenton, Steph Bant and Chloe Mckenzie were best; Wickenton scoring 38 goals and Bant 31.
Bridie Smith, Amber Dowd and Charlotte Dumesny were best for Dennington, with Smith shooting seven goals.
Merrivale was too strong for Kolora-Noorat at Noorat, registering a 57-43 win.
Luka Cassidy, Paiyton Noonan and Tahni Porter were the Tigers best, with Noonan and Chloe Lovell shooting 25 goals each.
For the Power, Hannah O’Connor, Mahni Beasley and Ailish Glennen were best, with Tara Elliott shooting 30 goals.
At Timboon, the home team had a 52-38 win over South Rovers.
Holly Delaney, Laura Rosolin and Tash Hallyburton were the Demons best, Rosolin shooting 32 goals and Brianna Gass 16.
For South Rovers, Meg McCutcheon, Ashlee Pavletich and Chloe Manuell were best, with Arnika Innis-Harvey shooting 16 goals and Manuell nine.
Russells Creek, South Rovers, Timboon, Panmure and Dennington have now all finished their seasons at A grade level.
In this week’s first round of finals, Nirranda will have the week off, with Merrivale set to meet Allansford in Saturday’s qualifying final, while Old Collegians take on Kolora-Noorat in Sunday’s elimination final.
