Free entry day and night for locals
LOCALS are being encouraged to rediscover one of Warrnambool’s most iconic attractions through the free Local Ambassador Program at Flagstaff Hill.
The popular program gives eligible residents free daytime entry to the historic maritime village, along with access to the spectacular ‘Tales of the Shipwreck Coast’ sound and light show on selected evenings.
Whether it’s strolling the cobblestoned streets, exploring historic cottages and museum displays, watching the blacksmith at work, introducing visiting family and friends to “Flaggy”, or simply soaking up the atmosphere overlooking Lady Bay, the ambassador program is designed to help locals reconnect with a treasured part of Warrnambool’s history.
Families can also enjoy a range of exciting school holiday activities throughout the year, giving children the chance to step back in time through hands on fun and interactive experiences.
While many activities are included, some specialty sessions may require a small participation fee.
This winter school holidays, children can create their own artwork using an authentic 1800s printing press, dress up as Warrnambool Garrison artillery soldiers, bake traditional scones and decorate plant pots and take home their own seedling.
They can also meet the famous Maremma Penguin Protectors, and experience what school life was like in the 1870s through old fashioned classroom activities, plus so much more.

Signing up to the Ambassador Program is simple, with residents able to register online and present identification showing an eligible local postcode before collecting their ambassador card from reception.
Eligible postcodes include Warrnambool, Dennington, Bushfield, Woodford, Allansford, Illowa and Yangery.
