Premier Speedway board president Rikki Stewart is looking forward to an exciting 2025/26 race season.

The 2025-26 season will kick off with a special launch on the Civic Green on Saturday, October 18.

Hosted by Matthew Monk, the free family day will run from 10am-1pm.

“The day is shaping up to be another great one, similar to last year,” Premier Speedway Board president Rikki Stewart said.

“We have lots of things planned for the day on the Civic Green, including a free sausage sizzle, showbags for kids (which include a free child’s ticket to the opening race meeting on November 1), free face painting and a colouring competition.”

Entrants in the colouring competition will go in the draw to win one of two bikes, which will be drawn on opening night.

Lucky visitors to the Civic Green on October 18 will also have the chance to enjoy giveaways such as lolly bags, icecreams, Fresha fruit juice and Sungold milk.

“We also intend on having plenty of race cars on display and the big screen TV will feature highlights from last season,” Stewart said.

“There will be driver interviews, including the likes of James McFadden and Peter Doukas, plus many more local stars.”

And for those looking to purchase some merchandise from last season, at clearance prices, don’t miss your chance at the Civic Green.

Visitors to the Premier Speedway merchandise shop can also enter the free draw for the chance to win an adult’s season pass (to be drawn at the Green just before 1pm).

Premier Speedway’s Allansford site was a hive of activity last weekend, with volunteers working hard to carry out work in preparation for this season’s opening night on Saturday, November 1.

“The track looks great and so does the surrounds thanks to the work of a team of volunteers,” Rikki said.

And while the club is still on the hunt for a new general manager, Rikki said it would be “business as usual” come November.

“We won’t be the first club to run without a general manager; there are other tracks which are run by a board or committee,” he said.

“We’re excited about this season and we’re all working hard to make 2025/26 a great year for all, both on and off the race track.”

Sprintcars and wingless sprints will take to the clay from 5.15pm on November 1, with gates open from 4pm.
