Goodyer wins Max’s Race

JOCK Goodyer has continued his great start to the 2025/26 race season at Premier Speedway with another chequered flag last weekend.

Goodyer took out his second Max’s Race victory at the track on Saturday night, impressing race fans after starting from pole in the A-Main and surviving a late surge from 2023 Classic champion, Brock Hallett.

Rounding out the podium on the weekend was Warrnambool’s James McFadden, who wove his way through the field after starting 10th on the grid.

Max’s Race has always been regarded ‘one to win’ on the season race calendar since its inception in 2015 – honouring Sprintcar legend Max Dumesny; the homegrown hero whose impact on the sport is still felt today.

Goodyer’s win on Saturday night came on the back of his top podium finish at the Allansford track’s season opener last month.

Sprintcars will return to Premier Speedway on Thursday, January 1.
