Grants open for festivals
GRANTS of up to $10,000 will be available to support local festival and event organisers, as part of the Moyne Shire Council Festival and Event Fund.
Applications are now open, with funding available for eligible participants who are able to demonstrate either a significant social, cultural, economic, or environmental contribution to the community.
Mayor Karen Foster said she is looking forward to seeing applications from a range of local festivals and events on this year’s social calendar.
“This funding will help us continue to support socially inclusive and culturally rich events that provide economic benefits and contribute to the growth of our region,” she said.
“Festivals and events have a long-term flow on effect beyond ticket sales – driving increased visitation and supporting local businesses, which is why council is so proud to support events across the region.”
“The grant will assist festival and event organisers with expenses such as equipment and infrastructure, planning and development, environmental sustainability, promotion and marketing strategies.”
