Hare again dominates for Cats

TOP three teams Allansford, Russells Creek and Nirranda all scored big wins in round 16 of the Warrnambool and District senior football competition.

An 11-goal haul from spearhead Robbie Hare led Allansford to a 26.7.163 to 7.9.51 win over Panmure at Allansford.

Hare was named in the best for the top of the ladder Cats, along with Bradley Edge and Rani Jamieson.

Tarj Anderson, Zeke Reeves and Samuel Mahony were best for the Bulldogs, with Daniel Meade kicking two goals.

At Nirranda, the Blues had a 20.8.128 to 7.4.46 win over Merrivale.

Dylan Parish, Noah Mounsey and Danny Craven were best in the win for Nirranda, with Parish kicking five goals and Jeremy Stacey four.

Merrivale’s best were Manny Sandow, Sean Barnes and Sam Gleeson, with Tyler Anderton kicking two goals.

At Davidson Oval, Russells Creek scored a 21.8.134 to 8.7.55 win.

Kyle Moloney, Andrew McMeel and Jailon Jenkins were best for the Kangaroos in the win, with Kyle Moloney kicking four goals and Dylan Shircore and Jordan Dillon three each.

For Old Collegians, Harry White, Campbell Love and Jacob Lacy were best, with Jake Dowell and Joseph McKinnon kicking two goals each.

The closest game of the day was at the Noorat Recreation Reserve where Timboon scored a 12.10.82 to 10.9.69 win over Kolora-Noorat.

Bayley Thompson bagged eight goals for the Demons, with Rhys Ziegelaar, Sam Thompson and William Benallack best.

Caleb Kavanagh, Henry Kenna and Justin Wallace were best for the Power, with Bailey Cooper and Jack Lehmann kicking two goals each.

South Rovers had the bye.

The closest match in the A grade netball saw Nirranda score a 46-36 win over Merrivale.

Montana Wallace, Thalia Coates and Bella Wallace were best for the Blues, with Steph Townsend shooting 34 goals.

Merrivale’s best were Tahni Porter, Cloe O’Flaherty and Mia Mills, with Chloe Lovell shooting 21 goals.

Old Collegians were too strong for Russells Creek, scoring a 55-38 win.

Tessa Evans, Paige Lenehan and Sienna Seabrook were best for the Warriors, with Maggie Kline shooting 39 goals.

Best for Creek were Jenna Cahill, Reese McIntyre and Alice Cann, with Cahill and Molly Evans shooting 12 goals each.

Allansford was too strong for Panmure, recording a 60-19 win.

Bec Mitchell, Jessica Rohan and Emma Stacey were best for the Cats, with Rohan shooting 32 goals and Lilly Sanderson 20.

For Panmure, Chloe McKenzie, Poppy Keane and Anna Dickson were best, with Sienna Wickenton shooting 12 goals.

Kolora-Noorat continued its strong form with a 64-38 win over Timboon.

Best for the Power were Hannah O’Connor, May Suhan and Emily Forrest, with Tara Elliott shooting 44 goals and Emily Forrest 20.

For the Demons, Amy Kavenagh, Taya Hanegraaf and Tash Hallyburton were best, with Brianna Gass shooting 19 goals and Laura Rosolin 13.

At Dennington, South Rovers scored a 77-19 win over the home side.

Meg McCutcheon, Chloe Manuell and Georgia White were best for Rovers, with Grace Mugavin putting through 58 goals.

Dennington’s best were Sophie Ryan, Bridie Smith and Charlotte Dumesny, with Smith and Dumesny shooting eight goals each.

This week’s penultimate round of home and away matches sees Old Collegians and Allansford meet at Davidson Oval, Panmure will host Nirranda, South Rovers take on Kolora-Noorat at Walter Oval, and Russells Creek and Timboon will clash at Mack Oval.

Merrivale will have the bye in the senior football and will host Dennington in the A grade netball.
