Held at the Warrnambool Airport last weekend, the day saw an estimated 1000 attendees pass through the gates, marking an unprecedented level of interest and support from the local community.

Perfect weather set the stage for a spectacular showcase of aviation and automotive engineering.

The visiting aircraft and the car show and shine display captivated the large crowds from 11am until the event wrapped up at 3pm.

A standout highlight of the day was the beloved Tiger Moth aircraft named Millie, which ran around the clock to delight aviation enthusiasts and keep up with the incredible demand.

The Warrnambool Aero Club extends its deepest gratitude to the local businesses whose sponsorships and backing made the day possible.

“Crucially, the club also wishes to acknowledge the amazing generosity of the general public,” club secretary Janek Kause said.

“Entry to Wheels and Wings was strictly by donation, and attendees truly dug deep.

“It is exactly this kind of wonderful community spirit that allows the club to keep the gates open to everyone in the future, ensuring the event remains a fun and affordable day out for local families without the need for expensive ticket prices.”

The club also thanked its members and volunteers, whose hard work was the true driving force behind this “incredible milestone for the local aviation community.”
