Juliet....with a twist
HOLIDAY Actors has announced their summer production of the hit musical, ‘& Juliet,’ will take to the stage at Lighthouse Theatre from January 3-10.

Casting has recently been completed and rehearsals are now underway.
The story imagines an alternate ending to Shakespeare’s classic Romeo & Juliet, where Juliet survives and charts her own path.
A regular cast member in previous Holiday Actors productions, Arwen Bounds has been chosen to play the titular Juliet.
With six years of experience, this is Arwen’s first leading role.
“The audition process was a little nerve-wracking, but it’s amazing how supportive everyone is,” she said.
“It’s such a privilege, and I’m excited to connect with an empowering character who goes on such a beautiful journey of discovery.”
Filling out the rest of the principal cast will be Cameron Chuck (Romeo), Calder Nicolson (Shakespeare), Madidi McKenzie (Anne), Scarlett Mills (Francois), Millicent Lee (Angelique), Zade Matheson (Lance), Mia Copland (May), with Iesha Kenna as Juliet’s understudy/Helena.

Arwen has also taken on duties behind the scenes, stepping into the role of assistant choreographer for the production.
“Getting the opportunity to play a part in developing the creative vision of the show is a dream,” Arwen said.
“I’m so happy to be working alongside such an amazing team.”
The production team includes Ashley Rogers-Brigden (director), Eloise Simpson (choreographer), Beau Nieuwveld (musical director), Maria Carras-Kerr (vocal director), Arwen Bounds (assistant choreographer) and Barton Lowe (technical director).
& Juliet is packed with humour and heart, featuring hits from legendary pop writer Max Martin.
This includes songs made famous by Britney Spears, Katy Perry and the Backstreet Boys.
Tickets will go on sale from October 27 and will be available online and via the Lighthouse Theatre box office.
