Knit a little, care a lot
DO you enjoy knitting and would love to be a part of something special?

As part of Carers Week 2026, Mpower is inviting carers, family members, friends and community members to contribute a knitted section to its ‘Carers Connection Community Scarf’ project.
Every stitch celebrates a carer in our community so why not help create something symbolic?
“We’re hoping to create a giant scarf and invite knitters of all ages and skill levels to participate,” carer support facilitator with Mpower Tracy McKendry said.
“Together we’ll create one giant scarf that recognises and celebrates the many unpaid carers across south west Victoria.
“Each knitted piece will represent the care, support and compassion carers provide every day.”

Knitters can drop their completed scarf section (approx.. 15cm wide and of any length, colour, pattern or style) to Mpower – located at 71 Koroit Street, Warrnambool.
All knitted contributions will be due by Wednesday, September 30.
The completed scarf will be proudly displayed during Carers Week (October 11-18, 2026) to raise awareness of the invaluable role carers play in our community.
