Koalas get ‘scrapped’

WHILE community and CFA members across the region continue their push to scrap the emergency services levy, it appears their recently-launched ‘mascot’ koala is the first to be scrapped.

According to Grassmere CFA captain and leader of the #scrapthetax movement, John Houston, the cheerful looking koala in its bright yellow overalls is now being replaced by a kookaburra.

“The koalas were very well received across the community and now adorn several farms, homes and businesses but unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, we can no longer promote these,” John said.

“Instead, we are replacing the koala with a kookaburra who we’ve aptly called Buster.”

The new kookaburras are available for a small fee and can be purchased by contacting John on 0438 654 244.
