Library needs your vote today
THE Warrnambool Library and Learning Centre has been shortlisted for a prestigious award and needs your vote – today.
The centre has been shortlisted in the prestigious global architectural Architizer A+ Awards for two categories - libraries and architecture and Learning.
Designed by Kosloff Architecture, it is the only Australian project shortlisted in each of these categories.
Unlike other awards, the A+ Awards celebrate the opinions of the public by asking individuals to vote for their favourite projects.
Every vote is equal and every voice is heard. Warrnambool City Council mayor Debbie Arnott encouraged everyone to vote for the popular institution, which has seen memberships increase by over 40 per cent and visitor numbers increase by over 162 per cent since opening in October following a $20.25 million redevelopment.
“I’m urging all those people who love our Warrnambool library to vote,” she said.
“I’m just blown away with the patronage at the new library. The increase in patronage says it all.
“It’s amazing to think that we’ve been nominated for these two categories; wouldn’t it be amazing to win one of those awards, or even both?”
Public voting closes today, May 12 and can be completed online at www.warrnambool.vic.gov.au for instructions on how to cast your vote.
The library was also shortlisted for the 2023 Australian Interior Design Awards, with the winners to be announced on June 2.
