Local scenery at art show
LOCAL scenery will be showcased through a variety of art works currently on display in Warrnambool’s Merri View Gallery.
Visitors to the gallery will be able to enjoy an exhibition which highlights the talents of members of the Warrnambool and District Artists Society (WADAS).
The exhibition, which runs from noon until 4pm daily until this Sunday, January 21 (and then on weekends until February 24), highlights the unique perspectives of our region’s professional artists.
Many of the paintings bring the beauty of our local landscapes to life while others capture animal and bird life in a variety of styles and mediums.
Should you be inspired to take home a lasting memory of your summer holiday, all artworks are available for purchase or you are welcome to simply browse and enjoy the free exhibition.
The Warrnambool and District Artists Society was formed in 1961 when 17 people attended the first meeting.
Today the group has over 70 members, ranging from beginners to experienced artists.
The society runs regular exhibitions, workshops and an annual member awards exhibition and ceremony.
Members meet regularly to support each other in their art endeavours and new members are always welcome.
The Merri View Gallery, located at 4 Coramba Court Warrnambool, is owned and operated by WADAS providing a meeting place for members and an important outlet for display and sale of artworks to the public.
