MND fundraiser at Gateway
THERE will certainly be some rather cold people at Gateway Plaza this weekend when the centre hosts a very special ‘ice challenge.’
The challenge, to raise money and awareness for MND, has been organised by staff from Coles in conjunction with centre management.
Fiona Lee, who has worked at the supermarket since it first opened at Gateway 40 years ago, said organisers were hoping a large crowd will turn out for Sunday’s event.
“So far, we have at least 10 people who have volunteered to do the ice challenge,” Fiona said.
“This is our way of raising some important funds towards MND research and to help further promote the cause and the disease across the community.”

Along with the ice challenge there will also be a barbecue, raffles, beanie sales and other prizes.
“Coles, Gateway Newsagency, Prouds Jewellery, Blind Jimmy and Your Regional Butchers are just a few of the local businesses who have sponsored this event and we’re very grateful to them all.
“All the action can be enjoyed at the Aldi entrance to Gateway Plaza from 11am through until 2pm.”
