Multicultural festival next month

THE Warrnambool Multicultural Festival will next month light up the Civic Green with a feast of colour, music and foods.

Last year’s multicultural festival attracted a large crowd to Warrnambool’s Civic Green and organisers are confident this year’s event will be just as successful.
Last year’s multicultural festival attracted a large crowd to Warrnambool’s Civic Green and organisers are confident this year’s event will be just as successful.

The festival – a vibrant celebration of the many cultures that enrich the local community – will this year be held on Saturday, November 8.

This year’s program will feature International food stalls showcasing diverse flavours from around the globe.

There will also be live performances throughout the day, celebrating music, dance and storytelling traditions.

A dedicated workshop space will give children and families the opportunity to take part in hands-on cultural activities while community stalls will highlight the work and contributions of local services and cultural groups.

Festival chair Carlos Lopez said the event was about more than just food and entertainment.

“This festival is about recognising and celebrating the role multicultural communities play in building a strong, welcoming, and connected Warrnambool,” Carlos said.

“It is a chance for us to come together, to learn from each other, and to celebrate the incredible advantages of embracing diversity.

“Our community is stronger, more vibrant, and more innovative because of the contributions of people from many different backgrounds.”

This free festival is made possible thanks to the dedication of volunteers and the support of the Warrnambool Multicultural Association.

Presented by the Warrnambool Multicultural Association, the festival will run from 10am until 3pm.
