New location for Dennington carols
WHILE the location and the name may have changed, the Dennington Carols promises to be every little bit as spectacular this year as in the past.

While many locals are used to making their way to the banks of the Merri for the annual event, this year will see a new location – with the carols to be held in the grounds of St John’s Primary School on Russell Street.
The newly named ‘Dennington Carols’ will start at 6pm next Friday, December 5 – with gates open and food/drinks available from 5.30pm.
This smoke, vape and dog free event will no doubt once again attract large crowds to the town, many dressed in bright Christmas carols ready for a wonderful family night out.
The Dennington Community Association is once again teaming up with the Warrnambool Lions to bring some festive cheer to our community with a joyful night of Christmas carols.
“After about 25 wonderful years of Carols by the Merri, we’re moving up the hill to St John’s Primary School, Russell Street, Dennington,” Dennington Community Association secretary Sarah Huntley said.
“But while the name and venue have changed, the community spirit and Christmas magic remains the same!
“We’d love everyone to come along, spread a picnic rug, and enjoy a relaxed evening of music and fun.”
A barbecue will operate throughout the night to keep hunger at bay and there will also be coffee, cakes, slices and icecream available for purchase.
The carols will start at 6pm, with a fantastic line-up of local talent (and one very special guest), hosted once again by the always-entertaining Richard Ziegler.
Entry is a gold coin donation, with proceeds going to the Wish Collective.
