In near perfect conditions on Rodger Henderson Oval, exciting cricket was played that entertained the crowd.

Multiple Warrnambool Moyne District Cricket Association (WMDCA) under 11s fixtures were also played on the adjoining Peter McDonald Oval during the morning, adding to the atmosphere.

Several WMDCA and South West Cricket clubs were represented and provided Super Smash teams.

This included players from Ecklin, Koroit, Mortlake, Merrivale, Northern Raiders, Pomborneit, Spring Creek, Warrnambool, West Warrnambool and Woorndoo.

After a hotly contested competition, Northern Raiders’ teammates Bailey Brooks and Ranil Rasanga were crowned champions after the grand final.

“Unfortunately, we had some highly credentialled team withdrawals leading into Sunday and even a couple of late scratchings on the morning,” Northern Raiders Cricket Club spokesperson Peter McDonald said.

“But that’s just part of the competition backing up from club fixtures on the Saturday; injuries happen.

“Bailey and Ranil went in with no expectations, they only entered on the morning. They won their preliminary rounds without any fanfare; they played the prefect game plan to take out the title.”
