Oaks Day fundraiser
FOR all the fun and colour of Oaks Day, without the pressure of an expensive outfit, head to the Warrnambool RSL.

Thursday, November 6 looks set to be a day of colour, fun, raffles and plenty of laughter when Rotary Warrnambool Daybreak hosts its very first fundraising Oaks Day Luncheon.
“This is the first time we’ve held an Oaks Day event so we’re hoping the community will get behind it and come along,” member Cheryl Bellman said.
“We will have sweeps on every race and there’ll be some prizes for a fun Fashions on the Carpet (with a twist).
“It’s not about spending a lot of money on a hat or an outfit, it’s about getting together for a fun day with friends – and making new friends – while hopefully raising some money in the process.
“Rotary supports many local, national and international causes and we thought an Oaks Day luncheon would be a great way to raise a few dollars.”
While there will be no betting facilities at the RSL, punters are encouraged to take part in the sweeps throughout the day.
Admission tickets will be $50 which includes a welcome drink along with a light lunch.
“Why not get a group of friends or family together and take advantage of the shuttle bus, which will pick you up from home and return you at the end of the day?
“We’ve very grateful for the support of the Warrnambool RSL and are looking forward to a fun day out.”
The Oaks Day luncheon will start at 12 noon on Thursday, November 6.
