One Act plays to return
WARRNAMBOOL Theatre Company’s One Act Play Festival returns this July with ‘Fate & Destiny’ at Emmanuel College on July 11 and 12.

This year’s program features four plays written by local playwrights, including:
A Way With Words - a comedy about what goes on behind the scenes of a local theatre group by Ross McCorkell and Lex Waterreus;
Odelle - the story of a young angel trying to find her way among the bullies and expectations by debut playwright A. S. Lockheart (Ace O’Dwyer);
The Shirker - as WWI rages in Europe, an 18 year-old Australian lad wants to be a conscientious objector after seeing what the war has done to his brother by Will King;
The Unluckiest Man In The World - a man walks to the end of the earth to find out why he is unlucky. But is he? By Philip Liebelt.
The festival format offers audiences four complete productions in one afternoon or evening, with an interval after two plays with complementary refreshments available.
“We’re incredibly proud to bring this festival to life,” festival convenor Ross McCorkell said.
“It’s a celebration of local voices and the power of storytelling to connect people across generations and experiences.”
The One Act Play performances will be held at Wyton Theatre (‘The Stage’), Emmanuel College, 39 Ardlie Street, Warrnambool on Saturday, July 11 (2pm and 7pm) and on Sunday, July 12 at 2pm.
