One-sided games across District League

ROUND 14 of the Warrnambool and District senior football competition was largely a one-sided round, with the narrowest margin a 40-point result.

That game saw Old Collegians score a 10.12.72 to 4.8.32 win over Merrivale at Davidson Oval.

Isaac Williams, Will McConnell and Jacob Brooks were the Warriors best in the win, with Joseph McKinnon snagging six goals.

Best for Merrivale were Manny Sandow, Jalen Porter and Jack Johnstone, with Nathan Krepp kicking three goals.

At Allansford, the home team was too strong for South Rovers, scoring an 18.17.125 to 10.7.67 win.

Aiden Gordon, Bradley Edge and Rani Jamieson were best for the Cats, with Louis Herbert kicking five goals and Robbie Hare three.

For South Rovers, Jaxen Dalton, Harry Jenkins and Patrick Cunningham were best, with Jayden Watson kicking four goals.

Reigning premiers Nirranda was too strong for Timboon, scoring a 13.9.87 to 6.7.43 win at the Nirranda Recreation Reserve.

Best for the Blues in the win were Brayden Harkness, Dylan Parish and Noah Mounsey, with Parish kicking four goals.

Oscar Norman kicked three goals for Timboon, with Ben Saunders, Rhys Ziegelaar and Joshua McKenzie the Demons best.

At Panmure, Russells Creek recorded a big 21.9.135 to 7.9.51 win over the home team.

Best for the Kangaroos were Dylan Shircore, Macauley Clark and Sam Kelly, with Kelly kicking six goals, Seasmus Brady five and Shircore four.

For Panmure, Zeke Reeves, Nathan Pratt and Toby Gedye were best, with Gedye and Reeves kicking two goals each.

Kolora-Noorat had the bye.

In the A grade netball, Merrivale scored a 59-42 win over Old Collegians.

Kelsey Perry, Tahni Porter and Chloe Lovell were best for Merrivale, with Lovell shooting 28 goals and Paiyton Noonan 26.

For Old Collegians, Maggie Kline, Annabel Lucas and Tamara Bull were best, Kline scoring 27 goals.

Allansford got the points over South Rovers with a 75-31 win.

Bec Mitchell, Jessica Rohan and Lisa Pender were best for Allansford, with Rohan shooting 48 goals and Lilly Sanderson 25.

For South Rovers, Grace Mugavin shot 15 goals, with Meg McCutcheon, Chloe Manuell and Mikayli Hoffmann best.

At Nirranda, the home team scored a strong 63-43 win over Timboon.

Hayley Pouw, Montana Wallace and Cloe Marr were the Blues best, with Steph Townsend shooting 27 goals and Sophie Adams 24.

Briana Gass scored 22 goals for Timboon and was named as the Demons best along with Nina Barlow and Laura Rosolin.

At Dennington, Kolora-Noorat scored a big 118 to 19 win over the home team.

Tara Elliott had a massive day out, shooting 107 goals and was best for the Power along with Mollie Bourke and May Suhan.

Bridie Smith, Amber Dowd and Charlotte Dumesny were Dennington’s best, with Smith shooting 10 goals and Dumesny nine.

Russells Creek had a hard fought 42-37 win over Panmure.

Molly Evans shot 31 goals and was best for the Kangaroos in the win along with Alice Cann and Charlotte van der Starre.

Best for Panmure were Sienna Wickenton, Sophie Melican and Anna Dickson, with Marley Talbot shooting 22 goals and Wickenton 14.

This week’s round of WDFNL matches will see South Rovers play Nirranda at the Walter Oval, Timboon has the bye in senior football and will play Dennington at Timboon in the A grade netball, Russells Creek hosts Kolora-Noorat at Mack Oval, Merrivale and Allansford clash at the Merrivale Recreation Reserve while Panmure will host Old Collegians.
