Perfect weather for little athletics
LAST Friday saw approximately 70 little athletes attend the showgrounds track in bright sunshine and perfect athletics weather.
Members of the Port Fairy Little Athletics club were eager to try some new events for the first time – with the committee event helpers focused on teaching technique, while giving a chance for fun and friendship.
Some fantastic efforts were recorded on the track, with all athletes trying longer distances and some of the younger athletes getting a chance to try the on-track program.
There was also some ripper throws in the discus cage, with the night finished off with many happy, smiling faces.
The club thanks all parent helpers who made the night so much easier.
Congratulations to all athletes who continue to show every week that athletics is a great way to have fun and make new friends while gaining life-long skills.
New registrations are still open, and a two week trialling membership is a fantastic way to give aths a go.
