Pleasant conditions for golfers
DESPITE early drizzly rain, the conditions became pleasant for golfers at the Portland course earlier this week.
Portland played host to the Western District Golf Association ladies’ pennant finals on Monday.
The pennant competition was played in fierce but friendly rivalry among the clubs in all divisions.
The final was no exception, with many games going the full distance and it was great to see the results shared.
Warrnambool won the scratch division, defeating Port Fairy 3 and 2.
Timboon won division one, defeating Terang 4 and 1, while Hamilton took out division two after defeating Warrnambool 4 and 1.
Division three saw Hamilton defeat Warrnambool 3 and 2, while in division four Cobden defeated Port Fairy 3.5 and 1.5.
