Plenty to see and do over the Easter break

WITH the Easter long weekend fast approaching, now is the time to start planning your activities.

Warrnambool and surrounding areas come alive over the Easter/school holiday period and this year will be no exception.

The Warrnambool and District Easter Fishing Classic is always popular among anglers of all ages and experience.

The classic will kick off at noon on Good Friday and run through until noon Sunday, April 5.

Flagstaff Hill is always a popular tourist attraction, not just among visitors but also locals who enjoy an entertaining and informative day out.

This maritime museum will be open all day from April 4 through to April 19 so why not spend your Easter and school holidays in an enchanting village that is alive with kid’s activities, delicious food, fresh air and ocean views?

An Easter family fun day at Lake Pertobe will no doubt once again attract big crowds.

Running from 10am through until 3pm, this event will include a range of kids activities, barbecue, live music, Elk puppets and the traditional Easter egg hunt.

On Easter Saturday (April 4) head to the Merri View Gallery, located at 4 Coramba Court Warrnambool, and enjoy an Easter Art Show.

Presented by the Warrnambool Artist Society, the art show will be open from 12 noon until 4pm on each Saturday and Sunday.

Easter Sunday will see plenty of action in Warrnambool, with a ‘cars and coffee’ session in the car park of the Flying Horse from 9am-11am, a ‘Sunday Fun Skate’ session at the Warrnambool Showgrounds from 3pm-5pm and a cannon firing at 2.30pm at Flagstaff Hill.

And for Sprintcar enthusiasts, Premier Speedway will roar into action from 5pm Easter Sunday when cars take to the clay for the final night of the 2026 Easter Sprintcar Trail.

If you’re looking for some indoor entertainment, why not gather family and friends and head down to The Bowl for a few hours of bowling fun.

This is great exercise for the whole family and will no doubt provide plenty of laughs and memories.

And for those searching for a unique gift, treasure or something special to take home, why not walk through the wonderful array of stalls at the Fletcher Jones Market?
