The annual event continues to draw big crowds to the seaside village over the King’s Birthday long weekend in June, with plenty to see and do for all ages over the four days.

Kicking off on Friday, June 5 some of the town’s youngest visitors can head to the Visitor Information Centre on Railway Place to pick up an entry form and begin their search for fairies and elves, goblins and ogres.

Follow the clues and answer the questions for your chance to win a great prize.

The fairy hunt will continue all weekend.

A series of Victorian captured mushroom photographs, alongside a small collection of mushroom-inspired pieces (for lovers of all things earthy) can be viewed at the Koda Deli and Rotisserie on Sackville Street from 10am.

A free rhyme time session (winter campfire sing-along) can be enjoyed at the library from 10.30am-11.30am with your favourite librarian Athena and local musician Flo.

Roving performers will make their way around town for much of the weekend, particularly along Bank and Sackville streets, including Oska and Dimitri (from the depths of the deep sea).

The festival opening fun on Friday will also include a special ‘neon nights with hoola poi’ on the Fiddlers Green from 5.30pm-7pm, along with a special screening of ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ at the Reardon Theatre from 7.30pm.

Saturday’s special events will get underway early, with the traditional Port Fairy parkrun underway at the Russell Clarke Reserve (James Street) from 8am.

This is a great way to enjoy the great outdoors, for both runners and walkers, with the five kilometre course taking in some of Port Fairy’s prettiest parklands.

Market lovers will enjoy the opportunity to browse the many wonderful stalls at the ‘MADE’ market at St Johns Church Hall (enter from Barclay Street) on Saturday, June 6 between 9am and 2pm.

A community market will also run from 9am-1pm at Railway Place, and a pre-loved art fair can be enjoyed at the RSL club (10am-4pm) for a gold coin donation.

Members of the Port Fairy Men’s Shed will once again set up a toy-making workshop on the Fiddlers Green on Saturday, inviting children of all ages to construct wooden toys to take home.

A highlight of Sunday’s program will no doubt once again be the annual running of the always-popular Port Fairy and Community Bank Dachshund Dash.

Held at the Port Fairy football oval on Griffiths Street, this event is always full of laughter, colour and fun.

With so much on offer at the 2026 Winter Weekends program, head to the event website for the full list and further details.
