SOUTH Warrnambool’s under 14s have brought home the 2026 Hampden League premiership flag.

The Roosters put on a great display of teamwork and skill during their 3.6.24 to 2.3.15 victory over the Hamilton Kangaroos last weekend.

Mortlake’s Wilsons DC Farran Oval was a sea of red and white on Sunday as supporters gathered to cheer on the Roosters, who finished the home and away rounds in third place with 12 wins and just two losses.

Both sides struggled to make inroads on the scoreboard in the first half, with the Roosters heading into the main break with just 1.4.10 on the board while keeping the Kangaroos scoreless.

While the second half was a relatively even affair, with both sides kicking just the two majors, the Roosters’ first half dominance was enough to get them over the line on the final siren.

In what was a great team effort on Sunday, Oscar Saywell, William Kerr, Zavier Nelson, Cooper McCosh, Aaron Lougheed and Nico Savage were named best for the premiers.

Goals went to Cole Burleigh, Logan Hunter and Zavier Nelson.
