SOUTH Warrnambool has taken out the 2026 Western Victoria Female Football League premiership with a 13 point win over Hamilton in last Sunday’s grand final.

The Roosters completed an undefeated season with the 3.7.25 to 2.0.12 win at the Reid Oval.

Alyssa Johnstone, Claire Logan, Maya Netherway, Rosie Pickles, Maisey Waayers and Charlotte Meade were South Warrnambool’s best in the win, with Pickles, Kiara Dean and Soraya Kearney-Knox scoring a goal each.

Hinemoa Biddle-Maitland, Milla Bornas and Cleo De Jong were best for Hamilton, with De Jong kicking both goals.

South Warrnambool’s Alyssa Johnstone and Claire Logan were both awarded best on ground medals in the win.

The under 18 grand final saw Koroit, in its first season in the competition, defeat South Warrnambool 3.4.22 to 1.2.8 to take out the flag.

Koroit’s Mia Robinson and Annika Baker were awarded best on ground medals in the win, with Eliza McDonnell, Hannah Gleeson, Harper McInerney and Elsie Finnigan also in the Saints best.

Eve Covey kicked two goals and Zoe Askew one for the winners.

Zara Steel, Millie Hook, Charli Jago, Molly McNeil, Shelby Mahony and Arlie Kelson were South Warrnambool’s best in the loss, with Tamara Rodda kicking the only goal.

In the under 15 girls’ decider, Hamilton took out the premiership with a 4.2.26 to 1.4.10 win over Koroit.

Kangaroo captain Taya Sherlock won the best on ground medal with Annabel Wenn, Tatum Bell, Billie Carmody, Skye Kurzman and Lexi Sherlock in the best.

Sisters Taya and Lexi Sherlock kicked two goals each for the winners.

For Koroit, Isabel Divall, Georgie Lee and Ellie Dobson were best, with Divall kicking the goal.
