In the division one competition, Lawn Tennis Stingrays (Vivian O’Grady, Debbie Keane, Liam Keegan and skip Brendan Keane) defeated Allansford Tigers (Colin Ruddle, Julie Pollock, Alan MacCulloch and skip Doug Byron) 21-15.

The Tigers have been in the top three for the bulk of the season and top of the ladder for the last six weeks.

Lawn Tennis was second last on the ladder at the halfway point of the season before winning six of their last seven games to reach the finals.

The grand final was of a high standard, with the scores level after eight of the 18 ends.

End nine proved the decisive end of the match, with four scored by Lawn Tennis from an Allansford knockoff, followed by one on the replay.

In the division two grand final, Bay City Rollers 1 (Julie Shields, Gerald Madden, Ray Hoy and skip Ian Swain) defeated Dennington Devils (Michael Childs, Cody Childs, Trevor Crow and skip Keith Cameron) 16-12.

City started the hot favourites after winning their last 11 matches.

The Devils had only reached the finals after winning the last end of the regular season to grab third spot.

The Ian Swain-skipped Bay City Rollers gained control in the middle of the game, getting out to an 11 shot lead, and despite Keith Cameron’s Devils winning five of the last six ends, City cruised to a four shot victory.

The division three grand final saw Koroit Jets (Steve Hamilton, John Keane, Murray McInerney and skip Bernie Murray) defeat the Allansford Pumas (Connie Ruddle, Mick Holloway, Ian Grummett and skip Ian Heatly) 19-15.

These two teams finished first and second on the ladder, with Koroit winning their last eight games.

The grand final was a mix of closely fought ends punctuated by the occasional blowout – with Koroit proving the more consistent of the two teams to run out four shot victors.
